How To Make Money Online

You make the decision to work at home, you sit in front of your computer - a budding entrepreneur - wanting to make an extra income online as an Internet Marketer. As long as you know how to at least brows the Internet and search for information using Search Engines, how do you begin to make money online? This is one of the most often asked questions of those wanting to start Internet Marketing. The answer is not always a simple one.

Now let us focus on which type of program leads directly to Internet marketing success. Most beginning marketers have no one to take them by the hand and show them - step by step - how to find the easiest path to that first commission check. Without help from an experienced marketer, it can take a lot of time, money, and aggravation before one can see their first check. For that reason many individuals give up before the get their first check.

START AT THE BEGINNING

You don't jump into the middle of the ocean before first learning to swim. By this I mean, you must have a starting point for your online marketing efforts, and take it step by step.

Most programs on the Internet today that are targeted to earn you money can be sorted into different sections. Some are: Network Marketing & MLM business opportunities, Traffic Generation Programs, and Affiliate programs.

Network Marketing and MLM Programs are (in general, at least) programs that sell a product or service that you must purchase yourself on a monthly basis to be eligible to profit from commissions. This way, your purchase each month provides a portion of the commission for the individual who referred you to the business, and your commissions each month will come from the purchases of people you refer to the program.

In this case, in my experience, as well as according to the advice of many experts in the field, not a good choice for someone who is just starting out in Internet marketing. Why? Well, because of your monthly required purchase that is costing you money even before you refer one individual. Ordinarily the commission percentage is low enough that you must refer at least two or three individuals (each making the required monthly purchase) to just break even on what it costs month to month.

The biggest problem with this, is that you must be able to persuade others to spend their money each month for the required purchase, while, in the beginning, you probably lack the skills required to get referrals quickly. As a result, you can struggle for several months before referring a single person willing to spend their hard earned cash. This means, you can shell out hundreds, or even thousands of dollars before turning a profit in this kind of program. Therefore, Network Marketing & MLM programs based on required monthly purchases are not the best option to an individual new to Internet Marketing.
