Before you decide on becoming an affiliate marketer, there are important facts you must know. Too many people think that this is the answer to their financial problems, they will start making money fifteen minutes from now. Their is a lot more to it than just posting banners and sending out email to an opt-in list that isn't yours. The truth of the matter is that 90% of affiliate marketers make less than $100.00 a month, some do not make any money at all. This is not a get rich quick business. With any business it takes hard work in order for it to pay off.
To become a good affiliate there are a few things that you need. You must have your own website that converts and you will be able to create your own opt-in list. You will need a lot of traffic, therefore you must have search engine optimization. You must know how to pick the right merchants. A good merchant will give you the necessary tools to promote their product.
The hardest challange will be the first couple of months. You may make only a few dollars a month or you may even loose some money on advertising. You'll start to wonder is this hard work really worth it. Keep working at it. Don't get discouraged because in the long run it will pay off. There are thousands of people who make an excellent living with affiliate marketing.
Having your own opt-in list is the key with affiliate marketing. These are the people you sold to and will buy from you again. They are your customers, gain their trust and you will get the rewards.
If you continue to put the time in, work hard and don't give up it will turn out to be a very profitable bussiness.
